Traliant Unveils Enhanced Employment Law Training to Protect Organizations from Legal Risk
April 21, 2025 | Mark Hudson
Forbes ─ In a new bylined article, Elissa Rossi, Vice President of Compliance Advisory Services at Traliant, discusses how physical and psychological perceptions of workplace safety is evolving. While most employees feel a general sense of security going to work, their experience varies across generations.
For example, Gen Z employees are bringing an entirely new perspective on workplace violence and harassment—and with it, a new expectation for safety.
“One contributing factor is that Gen-Z simply has a broader understanding of what counts as misconduct or harassment, taking more subtle types of misconduct into account as well, such as microaggressions, unfair treatment or aggressive behavior,” said Rossi.
She adds that Gen Z is also more likely to identify non-employee harassers, like customers, vendors or patients, and often don’t feel that the training they receive adequately prepares them for challenges like customer aggression or de-escalating conflict between customers.
Rossi recommends that organizations take three steps to improve workplace safety: Foster a strong “speak up culture; offer realistic, industry-specific workplace safety training; and maintain comprehensive and up-to-date safety policies.
