Workplace Violence Prevention Plan Consultation

Expert guidance for building your workplace violence prevention plan

Stay compliant with California’s Workplace Violence Prevention Law

Under California law, Labor Code 6401.9, all employers must implement and maintain a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan. Traliant is here to support you with practical guidance and an understanding of what’s required as you build or refine your plan.

During a consultation, an in-house attorney on our Compliance Team will:

  • Walk you through the law’s requirements
  • Point you to helpful resources and tools
  • Answer your questions about what’s expected

Please note: Traliant cannot provide legal advice or assurances that your plan is fully compliant.

Schedule your consultation

To be compliant, your Workplace Violence Prevention Plan must be specific to your workplace hazards and operations. While each plan is unique, most include:

  • Names or job titles of those responsible for developing and implementing the plan
  • Procedures for employee involvement in developing and implementing the plan
  • Methods for coordinating with other employers at shared worksites
  • Procedures for accepting and responding to reports of workplace violence, with protections against retaliation
  • Enforcement procedures to ensure employees and supervisors comply with the plan
  • Communication protocols for workplace violence concerns
  • Emergency response procedures for actual or potential workplace violence incidents
  • Training procedures required under the law
  • Ongoing processes for identifying, evaluating, and correcting workplace violence hazards
  • Post-incident response and investigation steps
  • Procedures to review and revise the plan as needed

For the full details, please refer to the California law (Labor Code 6401.9).

To ensure your training aligns with California law, employers must supply specific documents for inclusion in the course. The following is an example of what you’ll be expected to provide:
