To be compliant, your Workplace Violence Prevention Plan must be specific to your workplace hazards and operations. While each plan is unique, most include:
- Names or job titles of those responsible for developing and implementing the plan
- Procedures for employee involvement in developing and implementing the plan
- Methods for coordinating with other employers at shared worksites
- Procedures for accepting and responding to reports of workplace violence, with protections against retaliation
- Enforcement procedures to ensure employees and supervisors comply with the plan
- Communication protocols for workplace violence concerns
- Emergency response procedures for actual or potential workplace violence incidents
- Training procedures required under the law
- Ongoing processes for identifying, evaluating, and correcting workplace violence hazards
- Post-incident response and investigation steps
- Procedures to review and revise the plan as needed
