    Telecommuting, also called remote working, has been around for decades. During the global pandemic, the work-from-home trend surged and is likely to stay around in some form. While a flexible work policy has many benefits, it also poses challenges to organizations to keep employees connected and engaged and to ensure they understand that policies, laws, and behavior expectations apply in the remote workplace.

     

    The casual feel of a home office can lead people to say or do things on email, chat, or video conferencing that they wouldn’t in the physical workplace. Some people may actually be more prone to harassing behaviors when they can hide behind a computer and aren’t face-to-face with coworkers.

    Creating a Respectful Remote Workplace

    This brief course focuses on keeping the remote workplace safe, respectful and productive and is available in two versions, for employees (10-min) and managers (15 min). A video host guides learners through different remote work challenges, along with practical insights, tips and answers to common questions. The managers’ version builds upon the employee course, with additional content on supervising remote workers. This course complements Traliant’s full-length training on Preventing Discrimination and Harassment.
