    California

    Which employers must provide training?

    • All employers with 5 or more employees

    Who must be trained?

    • All employees must be trained
    • Supervisory employees must be training for at least 2 hours
    • Non Supervisory Employees must be trained for at least 1 hour

    When must employees be trained?

    • Within 6 months of hire for all nonsupervisory employees and supervisory employees
    • Within 6 months of assuming a supervisory role for supervisory employees
    • Within 30 days of hire or within the first 100 hours worked, whichever comes first for Temporary employees

    How frequently must employees be trained?

    • Every 2 years

    Connecticut

    Which employers must provide training?

    • All employers of any size must provide training to their supervisors
    • All employers with 3 or more employees must provide training to all employees

    • Training must be for at least 2 hours

      • One (1) hour of bystander training for all employees.

    • Training must be provided to employees within the first calendar week of employment.

    • Annually – employees must complete their first round of annual training by June 30, 2023.

    • “Employee” means an individual who spends a majority of their working hours alone, or whose primary work responsibility involves working without another coworker present, and who is employed by an employer as a janitor, security guard, hotel or motel housekeeper, or room service attendant
