California
Which employers must provide training?
- All employers with 5 or more employees
Who must be trained?
- All employees must be trained
- Supervisory employees must be training for at least 2 hours
- Non Supervisory Employees must be trained for at least 1 hour
When must employees be trained?
- Within 6 months of hire for all nonsupervisory employees and supervisory employees
- Within 6 months of assuming a supervisory role for supervisory employees
- Within 30 days of hire or within the first 100 hours worked, whichever comes first for Temporary employees
How frequently must employees be trained?
- Every 2 years
Connecticut
Which employers must provide training?
- All employers of any size must provide training to their supervisors
- All employers with 3 or more employees must provide training to all employees
Who must be trained?
- All employees must be trained
- Training must be for at least 2 hours
When must employees be trained?
- Within 6 months of hire for all employees
- Within 6 months of assuming a supervisory role for supervisory employees
How frequently must employees be trained?
- Every 10 years. It is recommended that refresher training is provided every 3 years

- One (1) hour of bystander training for all employees.

Which employers must provide training?
- Every hotel, motel, retail, or security guard entity, or property services contractor, that employs an “employee”

- “Employee” means an individual who spends a majority of their working hours alone, or whose primary work responsibility involves working without another coworker present, and who is employed by an employer as a janitor, security guard, hotel or motel housekeeper, or room service attendant
