HRMorning — In a new article, Casey Heck, SVP of HR at Traliant, examines the growing disconnect between organizations’ harassment prevention efforts and employees’ day-to-day experiences in the workplace. Drawing on findings from Traliant’s 2026 State of Harassment Report, the article explores how fear of retaliation, lack of trust in reporting channels, and outdated training approaches continue to undermine prevention efforts.

“While commitment exists, prevention strategies must evolve,” states Heck. “Otherwise, organizations face increased turnover, suppressed reporting, risk and declining employee trust, further widening the gap between corporate messaging and employee experience.”

Heck also emphasizes that creating safer workplaces requires more than policies alone. Organizations must build cultures rooted in trust, transparency, accountability, and consistent leadership action to ensure employees feel comfortable speaking up. As workplace expectations continue to evolve, companies that prioritize employee trust and psychological safety will be better positioned to foster stronger engagement, retention, and long-term organizational resilience.
